My story of domestic abuse lasted close to 12 years. I was in the situation for a long time due to fear.
Which is one of the main reasons most people stay. When I decided to leave, I had no resources, no
information and nowhere to go. Because this topic is so taboo, I had no help. I was homeless living in my car. Once I got settled and healed from my friends passing and what I had to endure when I left. I started to educate myself on Domestic violence, resources, support systems government help and how to help other victims. It became my mission to start speaking up, start advocating, and bringing
awareness to everyone around me. In 2013 Evolutions Of the butterflies was born from the healing I committed to do and with God leading me every step of the way. I knew that I needed a support system to help me bring awareness and educate the communities about domestic violence and how one ends up in this type of relationship. As well as the children involved that witness violence and trauma. I want to help those victims to get out and have a place to go that will help them and their children, so they don’t end up like I did, Homeless. My hope and goal is that one day Evolution of the Butterflies will be able to provide housing, funding, emotional, economic self-sufficiency, guidance, love, and spiritual support that victims and their families need. As well as Advocating for those who have no voice bringing awareness to communities. To help stop making this topic taboo. But instead making it something that people will stand up for and will not tolerate.
